DESCRIPTION:About the event\n\n\nJoin us for a free workshop designed for K-12 social studies teachers. You will be provided with TEKS-aligned lesson exemplars for elementary\, middle school\, and high school grades\, each focusing on different aspects of Perales’s legacy. This workshop will equip you with the tools and knowledge to effectively teach about his significant contributions to civil rights and social justice. \nThe workshop is designed and presented by Dr. Elizabeth Rivas\, curriculum specialist. \n🗓️ Saturday\, October 5\, 2024  |  10:00 am – 1:30 pm\n📍UTSA Downtown\, Durango Building 3.202\n📍501 W. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd.\, San Antonio\, TX 78207 \nRefreshments and a light lunch will be provided. \n3 CPE hours for qualified teachers \n\n🛑 KNOW BEFORE YOU GO\nPlease bring an electronic device (laptop\, tablet\, or smartphone) to participate in interactive activities. \nRegistration is required.\nParking details will be sent to registered participants closer to the workshop date. \nThis program is presented in partnership with the UTSA Department of Race\, Ethnicity\, Gender\, and Sexuality Studies\, the Mexican American Studies Teachers Academy\, and the UTSA Mexican American Studies Program.
