About the event

Join us for a virtual conversation with El Paso native, historian, & author David Dorado Romo about his recent book BORDERLANDS AND THE MEXICAN AMERICAN STORY. Written for middle school and high school readers, this book explores the history of Mexican Americans in the U.S. Southwest. Romo fills gaps and dispels myths sometimes found in American history. He highlights the stories of people who have lived in this land since before 1848, the difficult histories of enslavement, discrimination, and racial violence as borders were created, and the contributions of civil rights trailblazers and young people toward equality.

🎁 This book will make a great holiday gift for young readers! What better gift for our youth than the opportunity to see themselves and their ancestors in history?

📍This event will livestream on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 6 PM Central on MACRI’s Facebook at https://bit.ly/FB-MACRI and YouTube at https://bit.ly/YT-MACRI.
